RESIDENTS in Oakdale will be shown latest design images for a wind energy development that could power 2,400 homes.
Renewable energy developer Parrtnerships for Renewables will show computer-generated montages of how the two wind turbines should look at an exhibition next Wednesday.
After consulting with local people, the developer plans to place the turbines further to the east, making them further away from the nearest residents.
The development, on land owned by Caerphilly council at Oakdale Business Park would generate 11 gigawatt hours of green electricity a year with a full planning application expected to be submitted by the summer.
Electricity from the turbines may also be fed directly to companies based at the business park as well as providing discounted energy for homes in the local area.
Caerphilly council deputy leader Colin Mann said the plans form part of its ambitious sustainable regeneration strategy.
He said: "Wind energy is a vital part of our future energy mix and we are proud to have the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to meeting renewable energy targets and promoting sustainability."
The exhibition will be held on Wednesday, June 15 at Oakdale Community Centre, Penrhiw Avenue, from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.
