HUNDREDS of music lovers didn’t let the rain stop them enjoying themselves at this year’s Raglan Music Festival.
Running from Friday to Sunday, locals and visitors of all ages were treated to a variety of acts ranging from Raglan school pupils to headliners 10cc.
Pontnewydd Male Voice Choir also performed at St Cadoc’s Church, after the downpour meant they had to move from their original venue of Raglan Castle. While The Take That Experience, a tribute to the band, at The Beaufort pub, also proved a popular act, with tickets selling out.
Acts performed all over the village for the festival, which is now in its seventh year, including at local pubs The Beaufort, The Ship and The Crown, as well as at Raglan School and Raglan Castle.
Member of the Raglan Music Festival committee Maria Abell said: “We have had at least a few hundred turn up at each event and at 10cc, there were more than 800.
“It’s been an excellent event even with the weather and people have had a great time.”
Treasurer of the committee Shirley Hughes added: “It’s been a roaring success and a lovely atmosphere. Even in the rain, people just had their umbrellas up and were enjoying the music.”
