A NEWPORT teenager was locked up for driving an offroad bike round a Newport housing estate.
Kyle Bush, 18, was sentenced after pleading guilty to driving while disqualified, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.
Newport Magistrates Court heard Bush was seen by a PCSO driving an off-road motorbike on the pavements in Bettws, on April 15, including around MonnowPrimary School while there were parents with pushchairs.
He was banned from driving for 18 months on December 22 after failing to provide a specimen of breath and given a 12- month conditional discharge.
Defending, Ian George said Bush was told his mother was ill and jumped on the motorbike “without thinking” to get home.
He was given 12-week concurrent sentences for the first two charges with no separate penalty for driving without insurance.
He was given eight weeks consecutive for breaching his conditional discharge, 28 days concurrent for outstanding fines of £840.53 and banned from driving for 24 months.
