FUNDRAISERS are gearing up to take part in a Grand Prix fitness challenge to raise money for the Argus-backed Sparkle Appeal.
Inspired by the world of Formula 1, staff at The Hilton hotel in Newport are organising a challenge where teams of four use cardiovascular gym equipment to try and cover the equivalent distance of various Grand Prix circuits.
Teams will compete against each other to see who is the quickest and the winners will receive their prizes at a 'Pit Stop Party' at the hotel following the event today.
Staff will take on a feat of their own on June 26, as part of the Hilton's 'Around the World in a Day' challenge, where hotel employees from across the world will attempt to cover 24,901.55 miles, the circumference of the Earth, on the equipment.
The Newport team has chosen the Sparkle Appeal as their charity of the year for the past two years and will be donating any funds raised to the cause.
For more information on how to take part in the challenge contact the Hilton on 01633 413737.
