CAMPAIGNERS raised more than £123,000 in Wales this year for a kidney charity.
Walkers took part in the annual Walk for Life earlier this year to raise funds for the Kidney Wales Foundation.
Eight walks took part across Gwent this year, helping the charity to support those affected by kidney disease and for it to invest in lifesaving research.
The largest amount raised in Gwent was through the Pontypool canal walk, which raised £2,584.60 and was organised by local kidney patient Andrew Woolfall.
Other large amounts include the £2,520 raised through the Usk walk, £801 raised by the Blackwood walk and £336.60 in Cwmbran.
The walk in Monmouth totalled £145, followed by the £159.86 raised by the Abergavenny walk, £130 in Undy and £150 in Ebbw Vale.
The walks in Cwmbran, Ebbw Vale and Abergavenny were organised by the Specsavers stores in the towns.
Katherine Watley, whose four-year-old son Leo Jones died last year after suffering kidney failure since birth, organised a Walk for Life in Newport in April which earned £441 for the charity.
The totals were announced at a recent gala dinner held by the charity in Cardiff.
