A GROUP which runs allotments across Torfaen is heading to Builth Wells for the Royal Welsh Show for the first time this year.
South Torfaen and Cwmbran Allotment Association is to put on a show garden in conjunction with the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners.
The group, which manages 18 sites in the area, will have a mini-allotment on show with raised beds, a greenhouse and a shed.
It will also offer visitors advice on how to grow plants without a garden, such as on a patio or a balcony.
Alan Horner, STCAA’s event and fundraising organiser, said it was a first for both the group and the national society, which has not had a show garden at the Royal Welsh before.
The Royal Welsh Show 2011 takes place in Builth Wells, Powys, from July 18-21.
