DRAGON boat racing, abseiling, charity runs and parades are just some of the events lined up in Gwent this weekend.
Today is Blaenavon World Heritage Day and celebrations kick off with live music, street entertainers, a Victorian funfair, craft stalls and refreshments across the town.
Youngsters will also be taking part in a heritage costume parade with dancers, brass bands and samba drumming, which will parade through the town from Broad Street car park through the town centre.
Floats of all shapes and sizes are set to take part in Chepstow Carnival today.
The procession starts at 11am by the Severn Bridge Social Club, going through the town to the Riverside Bandstand.
Children from schools across Gwent will be dancing in traditional costume in Gwent Square, Cwmbran Shopping as part of the Gwyl Plant Gwent Children's Festival of Dance.
In Newport, Bettws Parade and fun day, with the parades travelling from Bettws in Bloom to Newport High School when there will be entertainment until 4pm.
Tomorrow, female fundraisers will be celebrating 10 years of the Cwmbran Race for Life by taking on the 5km run at Northfields Recreation Grounds, Croesyceiliog.
Around 2,000 women are expected to take part. There will also be sporting activities, stalls and dance demonstrations.
Fundraisers will also be taking to the water in Monmouth on Sunday for the St David's Foundation annual dragon boat race at Monmouth Rowing Club.
Activities including kayaking, archery, fishing, arts and crafts and climbing are among the attractions at the Garn Lakes Country Fayre, which takes place on Sunday.
Brave fundraisers will be scaling the heights of Newport's Transporter Bridge on Sunday, to abseil back down again to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
SATURDAY

- Chepstow Carnival - starts at 11am at the Severn Bridge Social Club, going through the town to the Riverside Bandstand
- Gwyl Plant Gwent Children's Festival of Dance - starts at 10am at Cwmbran Shopping
- Bettws Parade and fun day - starts at 12pm, with the parades travelling from Bettws in Bloom to Newport High Scholl when there will be entertainment until 4pm.
SUNDAY
- Cwmbran Race for Life - starts at 11am at Northfields Recreation Grounds, Croesyceiliog St David's Foundation dragon boat race - from 10am to 4pm at Monmouth Rowing Club
- Garn Lakes Country Fayre - kayaking, archery, fishing, arts and crafts and climbing
- Macmillan Cancer Suport abseil - from 9.30am at Newport Transporter Bridge
