WORKERS from six Newport organisations helped clear up paths and woodland around Ringland Community Centre on Friday.
They were getting involved in national Give and Gain Day, which is aimed at employees working for nothing in their local communities.
Ten staff from the city's Office of National Statistics undertook the work along with staff from Castle Bingo, Morgan Sindall (Construction), SERS Ltd and Wales and West Utilities.
Their tasks included litter picking, gardening, cleaning, clearing pathways, repairing steps and removing graffiti.
The area is used by residents, community groups and schoolchildren. ONS's executive director Joe Grice said: "It was a unique opportunity for staff to make a difference to the communities they live and work in."
