A MAN was punched to the ground on an Abertillery cycle path for his wallet and a gold ring.
Police are appealing for information following the robbery of the 39-year-old along the cycle path behind the town’s Tesco store that took place between 12 noon and 1pm on Tuesday.
A spokeswoman said the the man was approached by two men on push bikes. One of the men punched the victim in his face, causing him to fall to the floor.
While the victim was on the ground the two took his wallet and a gold ring from one of his fingers, then making off in the direction of the Tesco store.
The victim sustained a cut nose and facial bruising but did not require hospital treatment.
The first man is described as white, in his early 20s, around 5 feet 7 inches tall with a grey flecked hooded jumper, blue jeans and white trainers.
He was riding a silver BMX style bike.
The second man is said to be white, also in his early 20s, around 5 feet 5 inches tall and of medium build.
He was wearing a blue hooded jumper with white stripes on the sleeves and black jogging bottoms, and was riding a blue BMX-style bike that was said to look hand painted.
