A PONTYPOOL teenager who saved up money he earned doing an Argus paperound for four years was left "gutted" after it was stolen within months of him buying it.
Jordan White, 17, from Varteg worked as a paperboy until December, when his little brother Liam, 14, took over.
He had been saving up to buy a £500 Carrera Banshee mountain bike, which he bought and customised with a £140 gas cylinder suspension in January.
Jordan, of Varteg Road, bought the grey bike in January but when he got home at around 1.30pm on Tuesday, it had been stolen from the porch of his house.
His mother had been in the house until around 1pm, so there was only a short window when the thieves could have taken his bike.
Jordan said: "I was gutted, but that's not even the word for it, I had my paperround for years saving up.
"I hadn't had a good pushbike my whole life, so I saved up for this and in a couple of months it's been pinched."
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
