MORE than £157,000 has been spent on repairing the Senedd since it opened, new figures show.
The home of the Welsh Assembly cost £67 million and was officially opened by the Queen on St David's Day 2006.
Over the past five years, figures from the Assembly Commission show £29,000 has been spent on electrical repairs, £25,000 on fixing doors and nearly £19,000 on plumbing.
Last year's repair bill came to £25,521.
Details of the Senedd's repair costs were obtained via a written question to the Assembly Commission from Welsh Conservative AM Nick Ramsay.
Shadow Minister for Finance Mr Ramsay said: "While a degree of maintenance should be expected, large annual payments on electrics, doors, fabric and plumbing repairs are all of great concern.
"At five years old - and given we were promised it would last 100 years - the building is still very new.
"Taxpayers will be concerned, having paid so much in the first place, large amounts of public money are still regularly going on repairs.
"We need assurances resources are being used effectively and pro-active maintenance is taking place.’’ According to the figures, the total repair bill from 2006 to the financial year for 2010-2011 was £157,366.
