CHEPSTOW’S Bra Girls have been at it again, completing two marathons in just one week as part of their mammoth ten-marathon challenge for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
Nursery workers Julia Rennie, 39, and Julie Rogers, 31, donned themed sports bras to take part in the Edinburgh Moonwalk and, just days later, the Iceland Marathon.
The duo began their 26.2- mile Edinburgh run at midnight, power-walking through the city along with 10,000 other women.
“The marathon started and ended with tough hills and the night was quite cold,” said Julia.
“Edinburgh castle was lit up by pink lights and the atmosphere was amazing.”
After just a few days’ rest, the pair flew to Iceland to take part in their third Moonwalk, and the seventh on their itinerary.
In homage to recent events in Iceland, the girls added volcanoes to their bras as they touched down in zero-degree temperatures.
Julie said: “We took in some whale watching, climbed craters and visited breathtaking waterfalls. The marathon was our coldest this year: hot soup at mile 12 was much needed.
“We ended the marathon in hot baths. We have completed seven marathons in six months and raised more than £18,000.”
Number eight is in September.
“A huge thanks to our new friends who made us laugh the whole trip – couldn’t of done it without you – and the amazing Walk the Walk team.”
