A MAN appeared in court yesterday charged with a Newport murder.
Stanislaw Gliszczynski, 31, of no fixed abode, appeared at Caerphilly Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of Ramunas Raulinautis.
He is also charged with the attempted murder of Stanislaw Galeza and arson with intent to endanger life in relation to an incident in Newport on March 8. Gliszczynski was remanded custody to appear in Cardiff Crown Court today.
His brother Andrzej Gliszczynski, 27, of Longtown Grove, Newport, also appeared separately in court charged with assisting an offender, named in the charge as his brother.
Andrzej Gliszczynski was released on bail and will also appear in crown court today. Mr Raulinautis, 34, was found fatally injured following a fire outside the Gateway Express Hotel, Chepstow Road, Newport, on March 9.
He died at the burns unit in Swansea’s Morriston Hospital on March 12.
Kamil Semrau, 27, of Chepstow Road, Newport, Pawel Lysonik, 21, of Capel Crescent, Newport, and Lukas Kalkowski, 29, of Laundry Road, Pontypridd, have all appeared before Cardiff crown court charged with Mr Raulinautis’ murder.
Lysonik and Kalkowski are also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and arson where being reckless as to whether life would have been endangered.
All three are in custody and will reappear before the courts in July.
