FORMER Neighbours star Jason Donovan will appear as Captain Von Trapp alongside Connie Fisher as Maria in the Sound of Music when it returns to Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre this summer.
The Australian Donovan has had a successful and varied career as both an actor and worldwide recording artist, selling over 13 million albums to date.
His West End theatre credits include Tick in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
His touring credits include Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Show and the title role in John Doyle’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd.
Fisher won BBC 1’s How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? And she played the role of Maria at the London Palladium for 15 months to critical acclaim.
