DIED: Nikitta Grender
A Newport man today pleaded not guilty to the rape and murder of pregnant Newport woman Nikitta Grender.
Nikitta, 19, from Lliswerry was found dead in February following a fire in her flat.
She was due to give birth to a baby girl two weeks later.
Carl Whant, 26, also denied child destruction and one count of arson at Cardiff Crown Court. He remains in custody.
A date for the trial has been set for 9 January 2012.
