THE family of missing Gwent man Joel Andrews were yesterday told a body was found near to where he was last seen.
A local walker made the discovery in woodland close to the Fernworthy Reservoir, Devon, on Sunday, but police say it has not yet been identified.
Police officers attended the scene and the body was later removed for a post mortem examination to take place yesterday.
The former Llanwern steelworker, of Caldicot, was last seen around six weeks ago at a rave on Dartmoor near the reservoir.
His friends and family joined police search teams in the area following his disappearance on May 22 and they even distributed posters around Glastonbury ahead of the music festival in the hope that people would come forward with information.
More than 10,000 people also joined group set up on social networking site Facebook in a bid to find him.
Mr Andrews’ mum Tracey Reid, 46, last month told the Argus how Mr Andrews had recently moved back home to Caldicot to be close to his family after living and working in Bristol setting up a sound system business called Kaotic.
