A CAR wash service with a difference will be coming to Risca this month in aid of charity.  Around 15 men and women including local policemen, firefighters, postmen and members of Risca Rugby Club gym will be wearing minimal clothing during the charity car wash on July 30.

The event will raise funds for charity Action Duchenne and has been organised by Joanne Parsons, 42, of Risca.  Mrs Parson's six-year-old nephew Aaron Stephens was diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy in 2008, a genetic condition which causes muscle weakness.

Mrs Parsons and her brother Adrian Stephens, 43, who is Aaron's dad will also run the New York marathon in November this year to add to the funds.

They are hoping to raise around £7,000 throughout the year beating the £4,000 they raised last year for the charity.  Mrs Parsons said: "We thought we would do a charity car wash with a difference. Every penny raised will go to Action Duchenne which funds research into the condition."

The charity car wash will take place in the Tesco Risca car park from 10am until 2pm.  To sponsor the pair in the marathon visit www.actionduchenne.org/stopwasting/usr7560082138 or call into Roberts and Co Estate Agents, Tredegar Street, for a sponsor form.
