BLAENAVON’S new £13 million school had its topping out ceremony this week.
Torfaen council leader Bob Wellington was at the 450-place Blaenavon Heritage VC Primary School for the ceremony, which marked the final part of work on the highest point of the school’s roof.
The school, to open next spring, will replace the town’s schools and accommodate all primary school-aged children. It also has a 130-place nursery and its name emerged from a competition for school pupils in the area.
Cllr Wellington said: “This is another significant milestone on our journey to provide the children of Blaenavon with a first-class learning environment to help them reach their full potential.”
