GWENT pupils helped a local animal charity by knitting dog blankets.
The children from Cwmfelinfach Primary School knitted the 30 dog blankets as part of their enrichment activities.
The blankets were then presented to the Dogs Trust, a charity which the school supports, in an assembly during a special visit from members of the charity with pug Harry, one of the charity’s dogs.
The 85 pupils from the school have been working on the blankets since September, each knitting their own individual squares which were then put together to make the blankets.
Parents and local members of the community also helped with the project run by teacher Wendy Brooks.
Deputy head at the school, Cathy Edmunds said: "The children enjoyed learning the new skills and loved the visit from Harry the dog."
