A GWENT man who rose from obscurity to perform in front of millions on television is invited to perform at the Asian Bodybuilding championships in Thailand later this year.
Greg Pritchard, from Usk, first rose to fame on the 2009 Britain's Got Talent series, wowing judges with his high counter tenor voice.
Since then, the 26-year-old has given up his job as a waiter at the Celtic Manor and replaced serving customers with practising his singing seven days a week.
With the help of Super Soprano Promotions Agency, he has travelled to Sri Lanka to perform in front of around 50 dignitaries from across the world, and raised money for charities like Help for Heroes and St Anne's Hospice from his gigs.
The ex-Caerleon Comprehensive pupil was recently contacted by Sir Douglas Latchford, president of the Thailand Bodybuilding Association.
He saw the Gwent performer on YouTube and dazzled by his talent, asked him to perform for a book launch in front of Thai royalty last month.
Such was the success of that visit, he will return for the opening ceremony of the Asian bodybuilding contest in the country in October.
"I can't wait to go back, I would love to live in Bangkok, it's fast paced and a huge place, plus the people are really nice," he said.
"I only had my fifteen minutes of fame but I was out on Saturday and about ten people came up to me and said 'you're the guy from Britain's Got Talent', which was surprising!"
