A CAR raffle has raised more than £22,500 for a Gwent hospice.
St Anne’s Hospice raised the funds from its annual grand car draw with the winners announced last Friday.
Around 100 people turned up for the event with the winning tickets drawn by the draw’s sponsors Christine and Robert Purnell.
The car was won by S Howells from Crickhowell, the £500 cash prize was won by B M a d d e n f r o m Rhiwderin, £250 was won by N Lawrence from Newport, £150 was won by K James from Risca and £100 was won by J Garland from Newport.
The day also included entertainment by Newport singer song writer Joe Kelly who has written and dedicated a song to the hospice called Give Me Strength.
The song will be launched at the charity’s Rock on the Rooftop event on August 21.
A £5,000 cheque was also presented to the hospice by Jayne and Gareth Edwards from the Queen Inn in Upper Cwmbran which raised the money from a bike ride and fun day held at the pub on June 18.
