THE Big Splash is set to make waves in Newport again this year when it returns in October.
The festivities take place around The Riverfront area and in other city centre locations as part of Newport Festival 2011.
The Big Splash 2011 takes place on the weekend of Friday, October 7 until Sunday, October 9.
It will be another celebratory weekend of fire, spectacle and entertainment following on from the success of 2010 and will see Newport being taken over with a host of indoor and outdoor events on both sides of the River Usk.
Be ready for large scale spectacular stunts, a free fireworks extravaganza, street theatre performances, a gigantic puppet show, a climbing wall, ‘the action packed US sport roller derby and live music throughout the weekend including sets from The Elasticated Waste Band, The Cherry Beats, Wonderbrass, Tattsyrup, The Mavron String Quartet and much, much more.
Most events are free.
