GWENT Police are re-appealing for information after a man absconded from HMP Prescoed.

28-year-old Gavin Williams was convicted of Actual and Grevious Bodily Harm at Cardiff Crown Court in March 2009. He is not serving a life sentence and is not a registered sex offender.

Gavin Williams is five feet ten inches tall, has short brown hair, blue eyes and is of medium build.

Members of the public are asked not to approach Gavin Williams and to call police on 101.

Its believed he has contacts in the South Wales area - Maesteg, Bridgend and Cardiff.
