MUCH has been made over the death ofAmy Winehouse at the weekend and the outpouring of grief from her so-called celebrity friends.

Winehouse’s death sadly seemed inevitable as her life spiralled out of control, all of it in the public eye. There are many parents and people in Gwent who have loved ones in similar circumstances.

Drugs are evil and rapidly destroy people. We hope those people are getting the support they need.

It may well be that Winehouse didn’t want the help of all those who have been quick to place themselves in front of a camera or microphone this weekend.

If they did nothing to help her through her desperate, dark times, they should all be examining their consciences today.
