THE REMAINDER of works to the Chepstow to Black Rock section of the Wales Coast Path will be carried out over the next few months, a report to Monmouthshire council says.
A meeting of the Severnside Area Committee is to discuss the project’s local position on Wednesday.
Signage of the route, using the Wales Coast Path symbol, is complete at the Chepstow end and will now be extended across the Severnside area.
The Welsh Government is set to launch the wholeWales path in Spring 2012, and subject to agreement with Countryside Council for Wales, it is hoped links with local communities, routes and heritage will be maximised in Monmouthshire, the report by countryside manager Matthew Lewis says.
A number of mitigation measures, to make sure there is no adverse effect on the Severn Estuary European Marine site will also be put in place, including the introduction of controls on dogs to limit disturbance to birds.
