CHILDREN and adults were able to find out about the dark ages through an archaeological day in Cwmbran on Monday.
Greenmeadow Community Farm hosted ‘Discover Ancient Cwmbran’ with activities available for children including making pottery, embroidery and even money making.
Children’s toys and games from the dark ages were on display while tales were told by Dark Age Dave. Caerleon Young Archaeology Group demonstrated pot washing and pot reconstruction and the Ancient Cwmbran Group even gave visitors the chance to watch an archaeological dig.
Llanyrafon Manor Community Group was also at the event and a talk about the ancient history of Cwmbran was given by local historian Richard Davies.
