SIEMENS has won an award for its involvement at the Uskmouth power station in Newport.
The company was congratulated for its work at the DONG Energy plant during the National Joint Council (NJC) for Engineering and Construction Safety Awards.
This was due to the health and safety performance over the lifetime of the project and its Zero Harm programme, which encourages individual awareness of safety in the workplace.
Chairman of the NJC HSE committee Richard Ash said: “It is easy to describe health and safety procedures. It is another thing to bring them to life.
“The Severn Power project was clearly a project that did this and where team work wasn’t just a slogan. Siemens really lived it.”
