A FIFTEEN-mile walk has been organised in memory of a Torfaen council worker to raise funds for a cancer centre.
The Jon Show Walk takes place on September 10 this year to raise money for the Velindre Cancer Centre.
This is the third annual walk which has been organised in memory of Jonathan Conick who worked at Torfaen council until June 2009 when he died from cancer aged 29.
Mr Conick was treated at the Velindre Cancer Centre.
The walk extends 15 miles from Big Pit in Blaenavon to The Three Blackbirds in Llantarnam but people can join in for shorter distances.
To sponsor those taking part, see justgiving.com/ thejonshow2011 or to take part call Lynne Mattravers on 01495 742486 or Keri Gould on 01495 766495.
