HUNDREDS of holidaymakers from South Wales face uncertainty about getting home from Turkey after a tour operator went into administration today.

The Brighton-based tour operator Holidays 4 U specialises in packages to Turkey and operates from a number of airports in the UK including Manchester, Exeter and Cardiff.

There are currently around 300 passengers who flew out to Turkey from Cardiff still abroad and who will be affected by the news.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued instructions for passengers affected, including those who are abroad and those who are due to travel in the next few weeks. Passengers who are currently abroad are being advised they should arrive at the airport in time to check-in for their flights home as normal. However, some flight changes may be necessary.

The CAA is working to ensure all ATOL protected customers who are on packages can stay in their accommodation until they are due to travel home and have issued detailed information on the CAA website www.atol.org.uk For customers who are due to travel the CAA has confirmed that all holiday bookings are now cancelled. Customers are advised not to go to the airport as flights from the UK will not be operating and tickets will not be honoured.

Customers are advised to look at the CAA website and speak to their travel agent for any advice.

Around 2000 seats will be cancelled between August and October 2011
