ADMINISTRATORS are speaking to six bidders over the South Wales clothing chain Peacocks, the Argus understands.
It is understood that KPMG, which is handling the administration process, has requested final offers to be submitted by next Monday.
It is not clear whether the bidders are interested in some or all of the firm.
The firm went into administration after talks with its creditors – which included the state-owned Royal Bank of Scotland – broke down.
It employs 180 people in Gwent at stores in several Gwent towns, including Newport, Cwmbran, Blackwood, Pontypool, Abergavenny, Abertillery, Chepstow, Monmouth, Brynmawr and Ebbw Vale.
Bonmarche, the fashion chain that was part of the collapsed retailer Peacocks Group, was sold to private equity firm Sun European Partners.
Bonmarche has stores in Newport, Cwmbran, Abergavenny, Brynmawr and Blackwood.
