BURGLARS have struck at 14 homes in and around Blackwood in recent weeks.
Since the beginning of February, thieves have stolen cash, credit cards, jewellery, electrical items and a car after the keys were taken from inside a property.
Homes have been targeted in Blackwood, Pontllanfraith, Oakdale and Cefn Fforest.
Police in the area are asking people to make sure they keep their doors and windows locked, as open windows have been one way burglars have been getting inside people’s homes. They have also taken to removing rear windows.
Blackwood Neighbourhood policing team Inspector, Mark Smith says: “My message is simple – do you want your home burgled?
“If not, help the police by making that extra check which could prevent you from losing cash, bank cards, televisions, computers, jewellery, car keys and car.”
