A NEW direct train service will link Monmouthshire with destinations in west Wales.
Arriva Trains Wales announced the new route which will see trains travelling from Chepstow, Caldicot and Severn Tunnel Junction to and from Llanelli, Carmarthen and Fishguard.
The direct route will run every day, with one train in each direction.
These will leave Fishguard at 1.30pm and Chepstow at 4.43pm, meaning people won’t have to change trains.
Chairman of Better Trains for Chepstow, Jim Jenkins, said he hopes the move will encourage more people from West Wales to visit Monmouthshire.
New timetables are now available at Rail Ticket Offices, the Tourist Information Centre in Chepstow and local libraries in Chepstow and Caldicot.
