TALENTED singer-songwriter Tobias Robertson will be playing the main stage of the Big Splash tomorrow afternoon.
He is one of many performers lined up to entertain the crowds over the weekend as the annual festival which kicks off tonight with a bangra dance-off thousands are expected to take part in.
The main stage is near The Wave on the banks of the River Usk – so performers are hoping the weather will be kind.
Tobias, 19, of Newport said: “It will be a great family event so everyone is hoping the crowds turn up to support those performing in and around the city.”
Tobias has also been working with Newport producer Jamie Winchester at the Pentalk Lab recording studio at the Riverfront, recording his latest song due to be released later this year.
Jamie is also involved in Big Splash events and has helped organise a contest with local performers who have posted their acts on Facebook.
Five acts will be chosen to play on the Urban Edge stage tomorrow, hosted by Radio 1 ‘s Charlie Sloth. The stage is opposite Newport leisure centre . The winner of this contest will win two full days recording in the Pentalk Lab studio plus a pro run of professional CDs.
