SOPRANO Carleen Ebbs, runner up in the 2011 Handel Singing Competition will join three other young opera singers for an opera gala, Venus and Mars, in Dore Abbey on Friday, September 7, at 7.30pm.
Carleen who hails from New Zealand will be joined by Korean tenor Jung Soo Yun, winner of the Richard Tauber Prize in 2010, and the mezzo soprano Miranda Westcott who made her debut at the Royal Opera House in 2006.
Welsh baritone Gary Griffiths who won the Welsh Singers Competition in 2012 and will represent Wales in the BBC Cardiff Singers of the World in 2013 will also be taking part in this musical treat for fans of opera.
Providing accompaniment will be Craig White, from the Royal College of Music.
Among the performances will be arias by Handel, from La Boheme, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Cosi van Tutti and many more.
Tickets are priced from £12 to £20 and student concessions are £8.
