Newport-based MLC Technologies Ltd aims to make someone’s Christmas by creating a number new jobs as a result of expansion and relocation.
Managing director Tony Morgan said: "We’ve been installing shredders across the UK and Europe for the past 14 years. We’ve worked hard and been successful.
"The market for us continues to be buoyant but there is always time for diversification."
Tony, who has a degree in mechanical engineering, said: "We had the opportunity to invest in a new business – Spirafix Ground Anchors. It was too good an opportunity to miss so we are in the currently in the middle of merging the two businesses under one roof to benefit from shared services.
"Our plan, which is well under way, is to relocate both businesses to Wern Industrial Estate in Rogerstone. We are looking forward to taking on a new and quite different challenge and can’t wait to get going."
Fellow director Paul Clatworthy said: "As a result of our expansion and relocation we we’ll need workshop staff so we hope we can employ locally."
Paul, from Coedkernew, is hopeful of filling the vacancies before Christmas.
"We need to be up and running to maximise production capabilities and meet customer demand so we are going to need to offer jobs in the next month."
MLC Technologies, currently trading from Newport Enterprise Park, install metal recycling shredders and supply wear parts to the recycling industry.
It has successfully completed another installation in Avonmouth for Sims Metal Management, a global Australia-based company.
Paul said: "It was a complex project but that’s our background and where our experience lies so we took it all in our stride.
"Like any good business we get a great sense of pride and satisfaction when the job is finished and our customers are happy with the results. We aim to bring the same level of knowledge and enthusiasm for delivering great results to Spirafix Limited. 2014 is going to be a busy year for us."
