A Chepstow-based sealant specialist is capping off a successful year with the launch of a new service.
S&D Sealants, which operates UK-wide, has added property cosmetic repair to its portfolio of services, with the offering initially being rolled out across South Wales, Cheltenham, Swindon and Taunton.
Property cosmetic repair is the repair of surfaces and items that have been damaged during the construction process, such as doors or bathroom units which may have been scratched, chipped or dented.
The investment has already created new employment opportunities in the business, with three new staff appointed – one in Chepstow and two in Bristol – to oversee the day-to-day running of the service. Going forward the company is hoping to employ at least 10 further staff as the offering grows in popularity.
Nick Jones, managing director of S&D Sealants, said: “We identified property cosmetic repair as a potential growth area for the business earlier this year – it really makes a lot of sense as our guys are the last on site before the cosmetic repairers come in and do their thing. By combining these two offerings it makes life easier for construction companies who can come to us for both services.
“We wanted to get everything in place before launching this service to the market and we’re confident that we have the right staff and credentials to make sure that we offer the same high quality and top level of customer service for cosmetic repairs that we do for mastics.
“This year has been an extremely positive one for us and we hope that if this new venture is a success we will be employing more specialist staff across our target areas.”
In 2012 S&D Sealants enjoyed a five per cent growth and the company looks set to improve on this in 2013 with increased activity and an ever-expanding order book.
With a network of offices across the UK, S&D offers true national coverage by using a group of local sealant operatives to carry out specific projects. Their UK office expansion includes bases in Exeter, Wakefield, Fareham, Warrington, Bristol and Romford. They also completed the purchase of a Stourbridge-based mastic company earlier this year to further grow the brand in the Midlands.
S&D regularly works with a wide variety of well-known construction companies including BAM, Balfour Beatty, Willmott Dixon, Mace, Sir Robert McAlpine and Morgan Sindall.
