Rogerstone-based insolvency firm Hawkins and Company has been named as a finalist in the Insolvency and Rescue Awards 2013.

The business is just over 12 months old and its growth has been capped by being named as the highest placed Welsh and West Country firm in the category Insolvency Practitioner of the Year.

Director Sam Hawkins said: “We are thrilled to be nominated and recognised for all the work that we have been doing. It’s an honour to have been asked to the awards.

“The team are delighted with this endorsement from our peers. The award ceremony has a prestigious reputation in the industry and we are so proud to have been nominated. The credibility and recognition that the nomination will give us will be invaluable for the company. It shows that though we are a young company we have grown fast into a respected organisation within the industry.”

The whole team at Hawkins and Company were joined by Kevin Hawthorn, senior associate at DAC Beachcroft Solicitors, and Neville Catton, from Cook & Co Solicitors, to celebrate the ceremony, which was held at the Lancaster London Hotel.

The awards were sponsored by CAPA and are judged by a wide panel of judges who are some of the best in the business and well respected in the industry.

Sam Hawkins set up the insolvency practice in September 2012. On opening the business, she was recognised as a rising star in the industry in 2012. She previously worked with some of world’s leading financial firms. The Hawkins team offers confidential insolvency advice and support for businesses that are in financial turmoil.

“I set up Hawkins and Co in order to assist businesses with their debt problems, as well the individuals involved. I meet a lot of people who are all in very different and also very difficult situations. I take great pride in helping them and giving them a light at the end of the tunnel,” said Sam.
