A new boutique for youngsters is proving so successful that expansion is already underway.
Bethan Llewellyn launched Beth’sBow-tique in Ystrad Mynach in July, and is planning a new store in Blackwood for 2014.
The clothes, some of which are handmade, are selling well locally, and exports are also going to Ireland and France through sales on Facebook.
“The children like the fact that they can devise their own outfits by choosing accessories and mixing and matching,” said Bethan.
Catering for boys and girls to the age of 8, Beth’sBow-tique offers high quality clothes at reasonable pieces, and is a hit with mums as well as children.
“We are building a strong clientele, especially for birthday and fancy dress parties and we are developing a good reputation in the local area.
“Plans for the store in Blackwood are well advanced, and we will be looking to open there as soon as possible.”
The boutique received a £500 Caerphilly Council Business Support Grant, funded by Tata subsidiary UK Steel Enterprise.
Sharon Owen, Business Support Officer for Caerphilly said:”It is most encouraging to see a local, independent retailer opening here, and even more encouraging to see that Bethan is looking ahead at expansion.”
Ruth Headon of UK Steel Enterprise added:”We are delighted to support local businesses in Caerphilly, and the scheme has already helped launch several enterprises, which are bringing jobs and boosting the local economy. We wish Bethan every success.”
