Founded in 1949 Page’s Fish Bar, Sebastopol has a long established reputation for quality and service throughout Pontypool and Cwmbran.
Run by several generations of the Page family, the most recent of which, Jonathan Page, had always been keen to provide his customers with a place to sit and eat their fish and chips.
In November 2011, Jon purchased a rundown Tool Hire Centre in Cwmbran Town Centre and together with manager, Jen Davies he set about converting the building into a modern and comfortable 100 cover, licensed restaurant and takeaway.
Over the last two years the team at Page’s has worked hard to build up a reputation for wonderful freshly cooked fish and great service to either eat in or takeaway.
The hard work has paid off and this year at the Seafish Fish & Chip Awards ceremony in London, hosted by famous TV chef Jean Cristophe Novelli, Page’s Fish & Chip Restaurant in Cwmbran was named Independent Fish & Chip Restaurant Finalist 2014, one of only three finalists in the UK.
Despite missing out on the top prize Page’s were the only restaurant in Wales to get this far in the prestigious competition.
Jon Page said: "We are so proud to be recognised for our Restaurant and Takeaway and it is all down to the hard work of my staff, their commitment to giving Page’s customers an excellent meal coupled with excellent service is outstanding. We are very proud of all our team in Sebastopol and Cwmbran."
