Mario Sharley is bringing 40 years’ experience of civil engineering to his newly formed business.
MAR10 Geotechnics, based in Caerphilly, works with leading contractors and engineers on a range of construction projects that include flood prevention, drainage, waste management, reinforced earth walls , filtration and railway construction.
Mr Sharley, who started his career as an apprentice with ICI in Pontypool, has worked with leading engineering companies around the world on a huge range of projects, in a career spanning 40 years.
Mr Sharley said: “In particular, the approach of my new business is to develop ongoing relationships with my clients. I can offer them the experience, and provide a service through specification, procurement and installation on any given project.
As well as this, MAR10 Geotechnics offers a quality portfolio of products, supported by ongoing technical support.
Flooding has hit the headlines in recent weeks. Mr Sharley provides an experience in urban drainage facilities that could reduce flood risks.
He said: “It is very important that new buildings are designed with this in mind. Much of Britain has now been built over, meaning that there is nowhere for the rain water to escape.
“My company is experienced in both design and providing the right products for this.”
MAR10 Geotechnics Ltd has worked on a wide range of tasks, from the smallest civil project to the largest multi-million pound projects, targeting South Wales and the West. Clients include Macob, Network Rail, Walters, Alun Griffiths Ltd and other household names in engineering and construction.
MAR10 Geotechnics received a £500 award under the Caerphilly Business Start-Up Scheme, administered by Caerphilly County Council and funded by Tata Steel subsidiary, UK Steel Enterprise.
Glyn Thomas, of UK Steel Enterprise, said: ”Mr Sharley has a great deal of experience and valuable skills and it is good to see these being brought to bear to help the local construction and engineering sector.”
Sharon Owen, of Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “The council is pleased to support Mr Sharley in his new business venture and we look forward to working with him in the future as his business continues to grow.”
