AN office block at the Ebbw Vale Garden Festival site was snapped up at Paul Fosh Auctions sale.
The office block, Festival House, at Victoria Business Park, had a guide price of £50,000 but after some strong bidding, was sold for £125,000.
The detached single storey building of some 2,500 sq ft is in the former Ebbw Vale Garden Festival site.
The building is ideally situated adjacent o to other office buildings and just a short distance from the Ebbw Vale Festival Park shopping outlet and the railway station.
Paul Fosh said: "The modern office block with excellent location both in terms of road and rail, created keen interest prior to and at the auction which was reflected in the price achieved."
Another commercial property in Ebbw vale which sold well was a former restaurant building in Church Street. The large property in three floors at Church Street was guided at £8,000 but was eventually sold for £34,000.
A former newsagent and convenience store at Beaufort Street, Brynmawr, has a new owner after the substantial, freehold building sold for £44,000 after being listed with a guide price of £38,000.
The property which occupies an ideal location within the town of Brynmawr has retail and storage space on the ground floor with three bedrooms above with lounge kitchen and bathroom.
Paul Fosh said: “There were some big results on the night with many happy buyers and sellers, with an overall success rate of more than 80 per cent from the 72 lot catalogue. The actual value of properties sold was well in excess of £2m with many selling well above guide.”
