Staff from the Newport branch of Wales’ biggest estate agency Peter Alan helped to decorate a Cancer Research Wales shop soon to open in St Julian’s, as part of their 2014 charity partnership.

Peter Alan and Cancer Research Wales staff picked up their paintbrushes and spent one Sunday decorating the bridal suite of the shop in St Julian’s, Newport.

The Cancer Research Wales shop and bridal suite on Caerleon Road will officially open to the public tomorrow, March 26.

Laura Hooper, fundraising manager for Cancer Research Wales, said: “We’ve always had brilliant support from people in Newport, and this new shop and bridal suite is the next level of fundraising for us. We’re really excited to move into the St Julian’s area.

“Weddings are times of celebration, happiness and love; the bridal suite will provide a really unique way for couples to support Cancer Research Wales as part of their special day.

“All funds raised at the new shop will help us to fund vital research into new cancer treatments and give hope to all those suffering here in Wales. We’re so grateful to Peter Alan staff for their support with our new shop.”

James Matthews, Peter Alan’s Newport branch manager, said: “Cancer touches the lives of many people, and we believe continued support for research is vital to give hope to everyone suffering from this awful disease.

“We’re delighted to support Cancer Research Wales in the opening of their Caerleon Road shop, and we had a great time helping out with the decorating.

“It’s been brilliant to have been able to make a real, noticeable difference to the shop and we look forward to getting as many Peter Alan staff as possible involved in fundraising and volunteering for Cancer Research Wales throughout 2014.”

All money raised through sales at Cancer Research Wales shops funds pioneering Welsh research, to help give brighter futures to those affected by cancer.
