A kind-hearted South Wales garage owner is providing a top-of-the-range 4x4 car for a team of Three Peaks of Wales charity fund raisers.

Jenny Price, managing director of Keith Price Garages Ltd, based near Abergavenny, is lending a 4x4, 2l Subaru Forrester XT to a team made up from two Newport-based businesses, Kymin and HAASCO, for their challenge next weekend.

The Kymin HAASCO team are tackling the Three Peaks of Wales Challenge sponsored by Western Power Distribution for St David’s Hospice Care. The challenge involves scaling three of Wales’ tallest peaks - Mount Snowdon (3,560ft), Cadair Idris (2, 927 ft) and Pen-y-fan (2, 907ft), all in a single day.

Jenny Price said: “I was delighted to be able to help the boys in their marvellous attempt at the Three Peaks. Keith was cared for so brilliantly by St David’s Hospice Care before he died earlier this year. The charity does such wonderful work in the local community. We are so very grateful to them and I am glad to have been able to help in this way.”

Chris Taylor, of Kymin, who is leading the team of four climbers and one driver, said: “We’re thrilled to have been loaned the Subaru by Keith Price Garages. The use of this great car will make it that little bit easier for us as we are whisked to and from the three mountains during our challenge by our driver Simon Aston.”

Chris said the team had been putting in the hard miles over recent weeks climbing Twmbarlwm and Pen-y-fan as training for next weekend.

“We are as prepared as we ever can be for the challenge.”

The team, made up of Chris Taylor and Robin Hall, of Kymin, David Evans, of HAASCO, and Ian Hall, of Hall Photographic, hope to raise about £2,000 for St David's Hospice Care through their efforts. Those looking to donate can do so by visiting: www.justgiving.com/Kymin-Haasco.
