Eight members of staff from Monmouthshire Building Society successfully completed the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge fundraising event in aid of St David’s Hospice Care, helping to raise more than £2,000.
The Welsh Three Peaks challenge involves scaling three of Wales’ tallest peaks - Mount Snowdon (3,560ft), Cadair Idris (2,927 ft) and Pen-y-fan (2,907ft), all in a single day.
Business development manager Dan Goulding, a regular walker and leader of the firm’s eight strong team, said: “We put in a great deal of solid training ahead of the challenge which was essential in order to prepare for what turned out to be a gruelling day.”
Dan said: “As one of Wales’ leading financial institutions, the society is keen to give back to the local communities in which it operates. St David’s Hospice Care is a natural choice to support since the charity carries out an essential and worthwhile role in providing bespoke, individual care at the most difficult time in many people’s lives. I’m happy to say that our eight strong team completed the challenge in a very good time, and we all made it back to work with no injuries on Monday morning.”
