One of Wales’ longest established healthcare organisations has strengthened its senior team with a new appointment as it aims to target new business and expand its reputation.
Glyn Dorking has joined Newport-based Gwent Hospitals Contributory Fund as business development manager.
The not-for-profit company, with origins dating back to 1839, provides health cash plan packages for personal and corporate members.
Glyn’s role will involve networking with new business and current company clients and adding to GHCF’s portfolio of corporate members, who provide health cash plans as a staff benefit.
The 39-year-old has more than 20 years sales experience in the motor industry, previously working for City West Commercials in Bristol and with commercial vehicle manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz and Ford.
Glyn said: “GHCF has a great reputation in the local area and I am looking forward to expanding this reputation and embracing new businesses. There is a great team here and I am confident that we can take on new challenges and helping the business reach its full potential as an organisation”
Andy Wilkins, chief executive at GHCF, said: “I am delighted to welcome Glyn to the team and am confident his strong sales background will help us reach new markets.
“The health and welfare of staff is an important issue for employers. We want to emphasise that health cash plans are a cost-effective way of investing in staff wellbeing which positively impacts business productivity. The scheme has already been used by many businesses to help reduce absenteeism and boosting both morale and productivity. With Glyn on board I am confident that we can add to our portfolio of members and continue to grow our business.”
