Newport-based chartered Surveyors Hutchings & Thomas helped a charity fundraising Three Peaks challenge run more smoothly by arranging transport for a group of entrants.
A team from Marshalls and Tenovus, took part in the Tenovus event to scale the three tallest peaks in the UK - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - all in 24 hours.
A key to success in the gruelling challenge is having a reliable and comfortable vehicle to transport the competitors between the mountains in Scotland, England and Wales.
Haydn Thomas, of Hutchings & Thomas, said: “We have been working closely with Tenovus for the past 17 years managing their retail portfolio of some 72 properties across England and Wales. Tenovus is also our nominated charity.
“When the team were looking for a vehicle to help them take part in the Three Peaks event we were happy to approach our clients, Cwmbran Van Hire, of Springvale Business Park, to see if they could provide us with one of their minibuses for the weekend. They were happy to oblige”
Tenovus finance director Liz Wilson, the nominated driver for the Three Peaks team, said: “We’re delighted with the brilliant support provided by Hutchings & Thomas to our team. The comfortable and well-equipped mini bus was just what we needed.”
Altogether Tenovus had 14 teams competing in its annual Three Peaks Challenge. The target was to raise £47,500 for the charity through the event this year.
