South Wales-based recycling and environmental training company WS Training has celebrated handing over its 150th successful qualification for the year.
Demand for training in recycling and environmental awareness by WS Training, which is part of the Wastesavers Group, which runs kerbside collection of recyclables in partnership with Newport City Council as well as operating recycling services for businesses in Newport, Monmouthshire and Cardiff, has more than doubled from 60 qualifications completed last year.
The 150th qualification, a Foundation Apprenticeship in Sustainable Recycling Activities, was presented to Cardiff City Council employee Dan Parker. Dan works at the Wedal Road Civic Amenity site, helping the public recycle their waste and ensuring the site is run efficiently and safely.
Neil David, Training Manager at WS Training said; “It’s great to see our learners gain qualifications that not only help them progress in their careers but also develop communication skills that help the general public recycle more.”
