Welcome to Digital Tuesday – the new weekly column brought to you as part of a partnership between the South Wales Argus, Digital Tuesday and Digital 2015.
Digital Tuesday is a movement which holds a monthly meet up of all things digital at The Celtic Manor while Digital 2015 is the annual digital conference bringing together more than 100 speakers and 2,000 delegates in Newport, which this year will take place on June 8 and 9.
The South Wales tech cluster is thriving, employing more than 28,000 people across the region and seeing unprecedented growth with an 87 per cent rise in the formations of new digital companies between 2010 and 2013... but digital is so much more with nearly every business finding it difficult to operate without some level of digital technology.
Over the coming weeks we aim to provide you with interesting digital content for all business readers.
We’ll include case studies of successful local digital start-ups, profile established local technology companies who you may not even know, deliver tips and tricks of how to get the best from your use of technology, highlight the places to be so that you are at the heart of this community and discuss the skills that are needed to both enter the industry but also stay ahead of the game.
Digital Tuesday, May 12 – Getting Social @Urban Pop Up, Newport
This month Digital Tuesday is getting social and hitting the road to visit a business which has benefitted from being in a traditional industry, but making full use of digital to deliver maximum benefits.
On May 12 Digital Tuesday will be hosted at Urban Pop Up (@urbantapnewport), where Newport’s 'digital leader', Helen Reynolds, will deliver a short presentation on the benefits of social media to growing your business, personal profile or both. She’ll then conduct case study interviews with our host, Tiny Rebels’ Bradley Cummings and Parc Pantry’s Matt and Ant as to how social media has been key in growing their businesses so quickly and successfully.
Visit www.digital-tuesday.com to register for our free event and get social with us.
