Gianni O’Connor, founder of $tockTickler is one of the speakers at Digital 2015.

He will be speaking about the future of ownership and how the internet will can allow anyone in the world to own a share of their favourite companies and will be introducing stocktickler.com to the world for the first time.

Why are conferences like this important not only to the digital sector but also to business in general?

In 2015 digital and business are no longer separate and conferences like this really display that. The mass integration of digital into business is clearly visible this year with companies from all spaces of the economy demonstrating how digital can be used to grow business and produce better end results. The business sector in Wales is one of my favourite communities across Europe for recognizing this. Digital 2015 is one of the few conferences dedicated to business who engage digitally as opposed to traditional digital conferences, which tend to focus on consumer ended products.

What do you do?

I am a futurist by my own classification, but in reality I am a entrepreneur. I create technology that will allow you to connect with the world in a way you haven’t done before. My products allow you to do something simpler, easier or more efficiently than before. With my latest product StockTickler, we are allowing the 99 per cent to own companies that they love and follow with just a few clicks.

How did you get into your line of work?

Following my resignation from a previous music start-up, I focused on building something that would allow me to own my competitors. But my frustration at the difficulty in buying shares drove me to build an easy consumer faced solution.

What did you do before?

I was the founder of Music platforms Micsu & Mozrt.

How do you convince people that they should embrace a digital future and what do you say to people who are nervous about getting involved?

I quite simply offer them a local example of when digital has assisted them in an easy and friendly way. That’s the fear. People are not scared of or nervous of digital as a concept. It’s the fear that it will over complicate things or put them at a disadvantage.

What would you say to anyone wanting to follow in your career footsteps?

Plan super hard. Execute efficiently. And ship the product. Do not wait. And it will never be perfect.

How has your business/sector changed over the years and what do you see as the future?

In the time I have been in the sector, the biggest change has been the devices people use to access the internet. As that continues to change, so will Internet browsing behavior and like anything else we have to adapt with it.
