The staff of MegaChem (UK) Ltd, a local chemicals distributor, recently took a day out of the office and spent it gardening and maintaining the grounds at St Mary’s Church in Caldicot.
The grounds, which were in need of some TLC, were completely transformed by the team’s efforts with strimmers, mowers, wheelbarrows and a whole lot of elbow grease. Spurred on by the sun on their backs and their managing director’s offer of a chippie lunch, the team worked virtually the whole day.
Gary Foster, managing director said: “As a business we were keen to give something back to the local community and when we were asked to help out at our local church it was a perfect opportunity for us. A give back day not only benefits the local community, but also helps us to build stronger working relationships within the team”.
Sue England, from the customer service team, said: “What a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience. I have lived in Caldicot my whole life and discovered parts of the churchyard that had not been seen for years. It’s very gratifying to be able to give back to our community and I’m looking forward to the next challenge.”
MegaChem UK Ltd is part of a global chemical distributor group with their main headquarters in Singapore and offices in 11 countries across the world.
